SB 211- Fix it or Kill it
Only the Governor's bill remains, but will it be fixed to provide real freedom?
UPDATE:
In a blow to liberty and freedom for the citizens of South Dakota, the members of the Senate Health and Human Services Committee killed HB 1258, The Personal Conscience Act, by a vote of 7-0. A long line of lobbyists from the medical and business communities opposed it. HB 1211 was also heard in that committee and met the same fate.
Governor Noem’s FAKE FREEDOM bill, SB 211, continues on. It passed by a vote of 7-5 in the House State Affairs Committee where not one single medical or business lobbyist opposed it. It will be heard on the House Floor on Monday, March 7th.
There are so many things wrong with the Governor’s bill which is designed specifically for the special interests and not the people. In order provide real freedom from Covid-19 vaccine mandates, there are very specific things that the House of Representatives need to fix; 1) strike the weasel clause, 2) strike the sunset clause, and 3) strike all of the unncessary, bureaucratic language about the Department of Health providing a form and the very unscientific lanugage of natural immunity. Amend the bill to simply require a person to attest in a written statement that they have a sincerely held religious belief or that they have had Covid and are naturally immune. As the governor has said over and over, “I trust my people.” Is it all for show? She should be held to her words.
ACTION ALERT!
Please email your representatives and then email as many as you can before Monday at noon. Email them individually, not in bulk. You can also contact them by phone over the weekend.
Ask them to FIX SB 211 to provide REAL FREEDOM and liberty to the people of South Dakota. If it can’t be fixed, ask them to kill the bill.
Ask your representatives to respresent you and the people of South Dakota and not the special interests in the state.
Please send this message on to your family, friends, neighbors and co-workers.
