Tomorrow, March 2, the Senate Health & Human Services Committee will be hearing two bills— HB 1258 and HB 1211—that will determine whether we have medical freedom in South Dakota. The House has already passed both bills, so tomorrow’s hearing will likely determine if these bills will live or die in the Senate. Only a few days remain in the 2022 legislative session— this may be your last opportunity to make a difference.
ACTION NEEDED: Contact members of the Senate HHS committee TONIGHT and urge them to SUPPORT HB 1258 and HB 1211 (scroll down for senators’ contact information).
TALKING POINTS ON HB 1258
Vote YES on HB 1258.
Nobody should be fired from their job, kicked out of school, or denied access to a public facility simply for declining a medical intervention. HB 1258 will protect medical freedom in South Dakota.
HB 1258 allows any person to be exempt from a COVID vaccine mandate if receiving the vaccine would violate the person’s conscience. It prohibits subjecting any person to disciplinary action for making a decision, based on conscience, to decline a COVID injection.
TALKING POINTS ON HB 1211
Vote YES on HB 1211.
This bill will release an employee from a non-compete clause if the employer mandates that the employee receive a COVID injection in violation of the worker’s conscience.
Governor Noem once said that workers who don’t like their employer’s mandatory injection policy should just go find another job. While this comment was both haughty and coldhearted, it’s a sad fact that many South Dakotans HAVE BEEN FIRED for refusing compulsory injections. These workers should be freed from the shackles of a non-compete agreement, so they can secure another job and provide for their families.

Please share this action alert on your social media, and forward this email to family members, friends, co-workers, people you know from church, etc. Special interest lobbyists are working hard to kill these bills, and it’s critical that legislators hear from working South Dakota families that we will NOT tolerate coerced injections, and that we demand medical freedom.
